Spring Migrants at Berry Head

20 Apr

Berry Head

This morning walk with Mike Langman corresponds with the busy spring migration period of the year. The Guillemot colony will be in full breeding mode and many of our summer migrants will be on territories around the scrub on top of the headland. A high percentage of spring birdwatching is knowing the migrants calls and songs you will be helped to identify some, often, confusing warbler songs and perhaps overhead migrant finch calls. This is an exciting time of year for birdwatchers as anything can drop into the headland at any time.
