The site is a national nature reserve and home to many rare species of flowers and insects, as well as Greater Horseshoe bats. It is an excellent spot for bird watching including migratory species in spring and autumn, and sea birds and for seeing porpoise, dolphins, seals and occasionally even whales. Additionally Berry Head holds a wide variety of living history, most notably the Napoleonic-era forts of which our café was once an integral part. We serve a range of breakfasts, lunches, cream teas, cakes, ice creams, teas and coffees and alcoholic drinks. We use local ingredients and change our menus seasonally; our aim is that everything we do lives up to this spectacular location! In recent years we have won “Best Café in Devon” awards several times and in 2018 we were selected by Taste of the West to be the best café in the south-west of England. ‘So much of the spectacular and rare wildlife on Berry Head is directly linked to the unusual geology of the cliffs, coves and caves around us and beneath our feet. We are very proud that the region is a UNESCO Geopark and love to help our customers to learn more about the unique environment they are visiting’. FISHCOMBE COVE CAFE ![]() Award winning alfresco beach cafe on Fishcombe Cove, operating daily from Easter until November serving food and drinks for customers. Throughout the Summer we push the boundaries of this little beach hut cafe and use the space in the evenings to raise awareness for local charities, groups and projects by hosting events. This gives people a platform to raise awareness and money for their causes, which are predominantly environmental/marine life based due to the beautiful location of the cafe. As a cafe, we try to keep our environmental impact as low as possible, which means we only use biodegradable/compostable items for take away and we use as little plastic as possible - all of which gets recycled. As a cafe that has a platform to host events, we can bring a mixture of tourists and locals together to discuss, raise awareness and educate. In the past we have hosted talks with the likes of The Seal Project, Paignton Zoo - Seagrass Team, mental health charity Healthscape CIC and others, all of which allowed them to share their ideas and hopes for their causes. We are passionate about spreading awareness to help protect the local area and marine life. Opening times: 9.30am until 4pm daily, closed Mondays. Address: Fishcombe Cove, Bbrixham, TQ5 8RU |
