A Walk on Berry Head

28 Aug - 31 Oct

Berry Head National Nature Reserve

On a Wednesday come and join one of the Berry Head volunteers as they lead you around Berry Head National Nature Reserve.

This walk will give you amazing insight into what makes Berry Head so special. Not only is Berry Head a National Nature Reserve & Site of Special Scientific Interest, it is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument which falls within an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site is part of both the UNESCO English Riviera Global Geopark and South Hams Special Area of Conservation surrounded by one of the UK’s first Marine Conservation Zone.

An opportunity to see all the usual residents, from flowering flora, circling seabirds, shy porpoise, showboating dolphins to a human history that dates back 6500 years, although Berry Head’s story starts a lot, lot earlier indeed at 400 million years!

Please bring appropriate clothing for the weather and good walking footwear.
The walk begins promptly at 10:30am and Berry Head volunteers can accommodate the first ten people to arrive.

Venue: Berry Head National Nature Reserve
Time: 10.30am (Each walk lasts approx. 90 Minutes)
Cost: Free

No need to book in advance, although each walk has a maximum capacity of 10 people.
