GEOPARK FESTIVAL - Geopark Art Workshop

2 Jun

Beacon Cove and Artizan Collective

Join artist Claire Harmer on location at Beacon Cove, before heading to the Artizan Collective workshops to create original mixed media panels inspired by the plein air experience.

Claire will guide participants through quick sketching techniques that draw attention to various elements such as space, line, shape, colour and texture. Participants will have the opportunity to create approximately six plein air sketches each in a different drawing medium, before a short 10-15 minute walk back to Artizan Gallery, Fleet Walk.

After discussion and refreshments we will reflect on our sketches and choose elements from the drawings that we are most drawn to and inspired by. Claire will demonstrate how she takes these sketched and plein air elements, and uses them to create a composition sketch and an original mixed media artwork on panel.

Plenty of materials provided but participants can also bring any additional bits they would like to use in their sketched and final compositions.
