Geopark partners win at English Riviera Tourism Awards22 Oct 2019
On Thursday 3 October, the English Riviera celebrated tourism excellence at the inaugral English Riviera Tourism Awards.
A number of English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark key and associate partners, were presented with trophies across a range of categories for their outstanding contribution to the local tourism industry.
Key Partner Kents Cavern took the Gold Award in three categories including; Access and Inclusivity, International & Inbound Tourism Award and Visitor Attraction of the Year. The team at Kents Cavern then went on to scoop the Winner of Winners Awards.
Two of our newly signed Associate Patners; Reach Outdoors and Sea Kayak Torbay picked up the Gold and Silver awards in the Active, Sporting & Learning Experience of the Year category.
Finally the team at Torre Abbey were awarded Bronze in the Access and Inclusivity category and were commended in the Visitor Attraction of the Year category.
All Gold winners have been automatically put forward for awards at a county, regional and national level.
Nick Powe from Kents Cavern said: "Kents Cavern is Britain's most important cave site and is listed by UNESCO as an archaeological site of international significance set within the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark. It is truly a great honour and privilege for us to receive these awards as we pride ourselves on providing exceptional visitor and educational experiences that today's world traveller is looking for".

The inaugural English Riviera Tourism Awards are exclusively for businesses in the English Riviera BID area. The awards allow the English Riviera to further raise its profile and celebrate all of the great tourism businesses that operate across the resort. Upon entering these awards, businesses are automatically considered at county, regional and national level.
