Diving
As well as activities on the water's surface, there is also plenty of fun to be found beneath the waves. Tor Bay has long been a favourite with the diving community due to its natural, sheltered conditions and an abundance of small coves. The relative warmth of the Gulf Stream brings a marvellously diverse population of sea life including corals, sponges, sea anemones, fish and marine crustaceans. Popular locations include Fairy Cove, Babbacombe Beach and Brixham Breakwater. For the more seasoned and adventurous diver, Shoalstone Reef, Thatchers Rock and Berry Head offer challenging but rewarding sub-aqua experiences. You may not be diving in crystal clear Caribbean waters but there are still incredible diving opportunities on offer. The English Riviera is fortunate to have several centres devoted to diving tuition, trips and equipment hire that can accommodate divers at all levels of experience. Some offer P.A.D.I courses and certification.
